My Top 5 Tips to Help Prevent Holiday Weight Gain

www.express.co.uk
Its the holiday season and for some of us it is inevitable to put on extra pounds which may eventually become difficult to lose and also takes us several steps backwards in our journey. Today am going to be sharing with you all my top 5 tips which am currently using to prevent gaining extra pounds during this holiday/festive period.

STAY ACTIVE
Being on holiday doesn't mean you should completely cut out exercise from your daily routine. If you have chosen to live a healthy lifestyle or stay fit, then exercise should be part of your daily schedule and moreover this is the period when you have all the time to yourself as work is temporary on hold. So make use of the gym or home to get your workout done and burn some calories.

AVOID PROCESSED FOODS (FRIES) AND DRINKS
One of the causes of weight gain is the consumption of processed foods/drinks and this holiday phase is usually when you have them around you. Instead of binging on that pizza, doughnuts, chips, chops, settle of meals high in protein, eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Also if you crave for sweet drinks (fizzy drinks) simple juice some fruits like pineapple, apples, watermelon or better still make a smoothie from them.

INDULGE WITH CAUTION

Indulging only goes bad when you over do it and it eventually results to the scale moving to the right. If you must indulge in the pizza, ice-cream, just make sure it is in moderation and also it shouldn't be a daily habit.

KEEP YOUR GOALS IN MIND
I currently have a goal I want to attain before January 4th 2018 and having this goal in mind is keeping me focused and even more determined than ever. Do ensure you have a set goals so it keeps you motivated and also provides rooms for persistence.

REMIND YOU FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT YOU ARE STILL WORKING ON YOUR GOALS
When you tell your friends and family your weight loss/fitness goals they eventually end up looking out for you by making healthy food choices, encouraging you to exercise or even join you while at it, prevent you from making bad choices at the buffet, consider you when ordering takeouts, etc. For me, my kid sister is always there like my shadow preventing me from falling off my healthy lifestyle wagon and also making unhealthy choices and I must  it has saved me a lot of calories.

I hope you do find these tips helpful. The comment box is just below if you have any question to ask.
