Fruit in Season: Papaya

There are a number of fruits in season now but I choose to focus on Papaya because it is overlooked by most people and thereby causing them to miss out on its nutritional benefits. Papaya
or pawpaw is one fruit filled with numerous health benefits which nature has blessed us with. It has its origin from southern Mexico and central America, it's botanical name is carica Papaya.

Health Benefits of Papaya 
  • The consumption of papaya reduces the risk of developing asthma as it contains bete-carotene
  • Eating papaya treats constipation as it contains folate, vitamin E & E.
  • The chemopapain enzymes in papaya helps prevents Arthritis. 
  • Papaya consumption lowers body cholesterol thereby preventing heart attack. 
  • Papaya is an excellent source of antioxidant. 
  • Papaya serves as a skin care product. It can be used as a face mask, it prevents sunburn, treats irritated skin and reduces acne. 
  • Papaya when chewed or applied directly to the gum reduces tooth ache. 
  • Consuming papaya kills intestinal worms which in return fights and prevents infection. 
Make papaya a part of your diet as it is healthy, low in calories, packed with so many nutrients and also super affordable.
